Rafting » Tamur River Rafting( Grade 4-5) 12 - days trip

Tamor river rafting is highly recommended for an exhilarating active white water rafting squad and kayak trips. The white water section of 120kms distance consists of more than 130 rapids and this river has been discovered as a magnificent white water trip in the world.

This river is formed from the draw of world's third highest peak called Kanchanjunga and descends through the southwest direction of the river. By driving 18 hours one can reach Basantapur via Dhankuta/Hile by night bus and from Basantapur, it takes 3 days trek crossing beautiful scenery and unspoiled valleys to reach the starting point called Dovan. The last day rafters get combined at Sunkoshi river and ends at Chatara.

Itinerary

Day 01 Drive Basantapur via Dharan.
Day 02 Arrive Basantapur and prepare for trekking and camp.
Day 03 Trek to Chauki about 5 hours and camp.
Day 04 Trek to Goth about 6 hours and camp.
Day 05 Trek to Dobhan about 4 hours and camp.
Day 06 Rafting starts at Tamor. Run class 4/5 rapids and camp at Kabeli dobhan.
Day 07 Rafting whitewater section and camp nearby Koya River bank.
Day 08 Raft down calm section and camp at Dumre.
Day 09 Rafting continues water rapids of Tamor river and camp near Tribenighat
Day 10 Rafting about 3 hours and finish at Chatara. Drive back to Kathmandu.
Day 11 Arrive Kathmandu.
